- Stacks Bowers has had a location in Midtown Manhattan since 1933. Over the past 83 years they have auctioned collections on behalf of royalty, museums, institutions, famous collectors, and regular clients from across the world. Today they buy and sell millions of dollars worth of rare coins and precious metals from their retail location at 123 W 57th St. In addition to doing a large business directly buying rare coins, they also hold regular coin and currency auctions several times a year. Anyone can consign to the sales and the auctions often set world record prices. Stacks Bowers has offices in NYC as well as Los Angeles, New Hampshire, Paris, and Hong Kong.

- The Midtown retail location is located at 123 W. 57th St. That is directly beside the Salisbury Hotel. You don't need an appointment. Just come in during our regular business hours. They are very professional and thorough and knowledgeable in the field. I started out collecting only a few months ago and they have been guiding me. They give free advice and tips in a city where nothing is free. I have not sold coins to them so I don't know if they pay well or not but when purchasing coins they are very good.
I have been trading silver since 1972 on the floor of Comex when silver was $2.00/ounce and up to $50.00/ounce in 1980. I have bought and sold many bags of silver coins,krugerands, and $20.00 liberty gold with IGBE in Tampa, and the late Jules Karp. I have always been treated fairly. Today I wanted to sell some 1964 Kennedy Halves. With spot trading 20.85 Stack offered me $5.00 per coin. I shopped around and got $7.00 per coin within 2 hours. Another man was in Stacks store trying to sell bags of silver, and he was outraged at the lowball bid another Stack employee offered him. I would never do businness with Stack. Richard Polk Dudley
