This historic and beautiful church is also the National Shrine of Saint Seton. Originally established as a mission for the protection of Irish immigrant girls. The church today serves lower Battery Park City and Financial District residents as well as Fidi workers. Established in 1886 the parish began as a mission for young female Irish immigrants. Occupying two adjacent buildings, The colonial Watson House and the home of Mother Seton. In addition to being a place for special devotion, the Shrine has educational material about her life and the lrish American immigrant experience.
