SONY BMG Music Entertainment is a global recorded music joint venture with a roster of American and international superstars, as well as a vast catalog that includes some of the most important recordings in history. A variety of major record labels are under the SONY BMG umbrella, including Arista Records, Columbia Records, Jive Records, RCA Records, Epic Records and many others. In addition to its headquarters in New York, the company maintains offices in more than 40 countries throughout the world, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Greece, Japan, Russia and the United Kingdom. SONY BMG Music Entertainment is 50 percent owned by Bertelsmann A.G. (BMG's parent) and 50 percent owned by Sony Corporation of America. The company is comprised largely of the recorded music labels of Sony Music and BMG, but the music publishing and manufacturing operations remain separate.
