      As the domestic arm of famed Japanese cosmetics manufacturer Shiseido, Shiseido Cosmetics (America) produces a variety of beauty products, including lipsticks, eye shadows, eyeliners, mascaras, bases, concealers, foundations, nail polishes, blushes, skin lotions, shampoos, conditioners and fragrances. Its products can be found at retailers throughout the United States, including Sephora, Lord & Taylor, Macy s and Nordstrom. Shiseido Cosmetics (America) was founded in 1965 and has headquarters in New York. It is one of the more than 60 international subsidiaries owned by Shiseido. Shiseido was founded in 1872 by Yushin Fukuhara, who said, Beauty is universal, thus the products which serve beauty should also be universal. It has since grown into the world s fourth-largest cosmetics company. Many of its current products are derived from the same French, arabesque, art nouveau and art deco styles that the company s founders originally studied.
