General Info
Paulo Pacheco, M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received his B.S. from Boston College and his M.D. from Brown University School of Medicine. Dr. Pacheco completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The New York Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. He also completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center. Following his fellowship training, Dr. Pacheco also obtained a Master’s Degree in Science from Cornell University in the study of Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research. Upon completion of his Gastroenterology fellowship, Dr. Pacheco became the Director of the Gastroenterology fellowship training program at Weill Medical College of Cornell University, the youngest program director in the country, a position he held for four years. During his residency at Cornell he received the Program Director’s Award for Excellence. Currently, Dr. Pacheco is an Assistant Attending Physician at Lenox Hill Hospital and an Assistant Attending Physician at New York University Langone Medical Center. He actively teaches in the medical school in the pathophysiology of disease course in the residency and gastroenterology fellowship programs. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the New York University Langone School of Medicine, where he received the Department of Medicine Clinical Faculty Teaching Award. Dr. Pacheco published a book entitled “Living with Chronic Heartburn: The Complete Guide to Acid Reflux and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease”. He has done numerous interviews for radio, TV and magazines. He is also currently on the Health, Nutrition and Fitness Advisory Board of Woman’s Day magazine and has been featured and reviewed in articles involving intestinal disease.
