- Medicine is continuously advancing. Therefore, Dr. Jamali dedicates a significant amount of his free time to continuing education in oral and maxillofacial reconstruction. Over the years, his passion has become facial reconstructive (orthognathic) surgery. In pursuit of his passion he completed a fellowship in Orthognathic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He was first influenced in this sub-specialty by mentor, Professor Johan Reyneke, author of multiple texts and scientific articles on the subject of Facial Reconstructive Surgery. Professor Reyneke practices in Johannesburg, South Africa, where his clinical excellence and care for details reflects his respect for the patients and passion for maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Jamali was moved by these qualities and has made every attempt to bring them to his own private practice. Dr. Jamali is a member in good standing of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, American Dental Association and New York State Dental Association.

General Info
Dr. Jamali is a board eligible oral and maxillofacial surgeon. After obtaining his doctorate degree from Tufts University in 1995, he then attended the dental anesthesiology program at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Jersey. During this unique opportunity in his training, he performed more than 1,200 general anesthesia cases. This experience has given him an appropriate foundation for the administration of anesthesia and pain control for patients in our private practice. Few surgeons in the country have completed this additional training. Dr. Jamali started his career as a general dentist and dedicated 9 years to patient care. His pursuit of excellence was manifested in his cases that were completed during that period. Dentistry was an exciting and rewarding career for Dr. Jamali. However, he took his career a step further and decided to become a surgeon. He completed 1 year of surgical internship at Downstate Medical Center and 4 years of residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, which is one of the largest level one trauma centers in the country. During his residency he received extensive training which included rotations through internal medicine, anesthesia, general surgery/trauma, plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
