- Mid-Manhattan Library houses a range of books and study materials in various subjects, including alternative medicine, child development, computer science, decorative arts, education, ethnic studies, fashion, gardening, geography, and language and linguistics. It also provides reference materials in the areas of law, library science, medicine, nursing, photography, religion, culture, and sports and veterinary medicine. The library offers Internet and test proctoring services. Mid-Manhattan Library provides public programs that include exhibitions, workshops and other events. It also offers computer classes and online magazine and newspaper articles. The library is a part of The New York Public Library system, which maintains more than 80 branch libraries. The system operates the Donnell Library Center, which houses CDs and DVDs for children and teenagers.
