- The Innocence Project is a national litigation and public policy organization that is dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and criminal justice reforms. Established in 1992, the Innocence Project is nonprofit legal clinic that is affiliated with the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. The organization consults with legislators and law enforcement officials on the state, local and federal level. It also conducts research and training, as well as provides scholarships. The organization is a founding member of The Innocence Network, a group of law schools, journalism schools and public defender offices throughout the United States. The Innocence Project is located in New York City.
