      Dr. Edmund Kwan is among the most recognized names in New Jersey and NYC plastic surgery, particularly when it comes to ethnic treatments. He began with a solid background in general plastic surgery, with the intention of eventually serving Asian patients. After graduating Georgetown University Medical School and then going on to the prestigious Cornell-New York Presbyterian Hospital where he served residency, he then completed a fellowship at Sloan Kettering Cancer Hospital Center. Next, he completed advanced training including hand surgery at NYC’s Hospital for Special Surgery and craniofacial reconstruction at Baltimore’s John Hopkins Medical Center Shock Trauma Center. Already highly skilled in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgeries, Dr. Kwan traveled to Hawaii where he studied under the renowned pioneer of Asian plastic surgery, Dr. Robert S. Flowers. With a philosophy that sometimes less is more, and that precision is everything, Dr. Flowers had developed and refined techniques for correcting eye hooding, sculpting facial features, and refining the shape of the face without unnatural alteration or loss of ethnic identity. Dr. Kwan excelled in this extremely delicate type of cosmetic surgery and continued to improve and refine his skills after returning to the mainland. With this unique skillset and deep knowledge of ethnic features, Dr. Kwan quickly rose to prominence. Today, his practice has grown to include three upscale offices, in Flushing, Manhattan, and New Jersey. He serves residents through NY and NJ, as well as many patients who travel from out of the area.
