General Info
Daniel L. Motola M.D., Ph.D. is a board certified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist providing care to patients in New York City. Dr. Motola is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the NYU Langone Medical Center and is an attending physicians at Lenox Hill Hospital. He received his Internal Medicine sub-specialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology from the Massachusetts General Hospital, a Harvard University affiliated teaching hospital. He further gained advanced training in Transplant Hepatology through a fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital where he was recognized by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases with a fully funded fellowship award. Prior to completing fellowship training, Dr. Motola completed internal medicine training through an internship and residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. Earlier in his career he earned a combined M.D./Ph.D. via the National Institutes of Health sponsored Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Throughout his career, Dr. Motola has authored numerous scientific articles and book chapters. Dr. Motola's training thus provides him with a unique set of skills, medical knowledge and experience that allows him to bring high quality, evidence-based medicine to his patients. Dr. Motolas practice encompasses the full range of gastrointestinal diseases, while also offering specialized expertise to patients with chronic or advanced liver diseases. He is recognized by his patients as a caring, compassionate, and dedicated physician. Societal memberships include the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Associates for the Study of Liver Disease.
