Biggest Rip Off Ever! Me and my finance signed up for the 6 class wedding package, that cost around $900.00 and they only taught us basic steps. After the 4th or so lesson they tried to sign us up for a more advanced wedding package that would be 20 private lessons for around $2,000.00. It was the biggest waste of time and money. Look anywhere else and their prices are about half of Arhur Murray's. Don't waste your time and money on them.
COMPLETE RIPOFF! My fiance and I went to Arthur Murray at 16 W 57 to learn to dance for our wedding and, while our coach is extremely nice, their company policies are awful. When we first called they refused to quote us ballpark prices because "every dance program is individualized". That raised red flags but my fiance was still into it so we went to the free mini try out lesson. At the end of it we were shown two stock priced private lesson programs (one about $600 for 4 private lessons, 1 group lesson, and 1 party, the other about $800 for 6 private lessons, 2 group lessons, and 2 parties - OVER PRICED. We has to ask for something cheaper to find out about the $600 one, which we enrolled in). We get sales pitches during and after class, we are pressured into taking classes as soon as possible, and we just found out that our "specialized package" is really just an intro course. In fact, we "can't" be taught anything other than very basic swing even though this is why we enrolled. :(
