West Penn Elementary School is a learning center that offers a range of academic options to students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s curriculum includes reading, technology, music, physical education, math and science. It provides speech therapy and nursing services. West Penn Elementary School operates a library, as well as offers guidance counseling solutions. The school maintains a parent-teacher organization that serves as a resource for parents, students and staff members. It is a part of the Tamaqua Area School District, which has an enrollment of more than 2,200 students. Also known as TASD, the Tamaqua Area School District governs middle and high schools.
