"As a child, Dr. Nicole Figel loved to practice her surgery skills by picking the splinters from her carpenter father’s hands. Now, the board-certified surgeon and vein specialist – and mother of two – uses her steady hands to help United Vein Centers’ patients enjoy less pain, more mobility and better health. “Sometimes there is a bit of skepticism when patients first arrive,” Figel says. “But usually about halfway through treatment, they tell me they can’t believe how much better they feel.” Before opening UVC’s New Port Richey office in 2019, Figel worked for four years as a general surgeon in Largo. As part of her commitment to top-notch care, she makes it a priority to fully explain treatments and procedures with her patients. “I like being able to walk patients through the process,” she says. “I like making sure that they know what to expect, every step of the way.”"
