Founded in 1727, Ursuline Academy is a Catholic college-preparatory school for women. It operates elementary and high schools that offer various programs in language arts, math, music, business, science and social studies. The school also offers health and physical education to students. In addition, it offers career and technology education and advanced placement courses. It also offers a variety of clubs and extracurricular activities. The schools athletic activities include basketball, soccer, cheerleading, volleyball, softball, cross country and golf. It offers various scholarship opportunities. The school is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and the State Department of Education of Louisiana. It is a member of the North American Ursuline Educational Services, National Honor Society of Secondary Schools and the National Catholic Education Association.
