Based in New Orleans, the company operates a network of full-service recycling facilities from Lake Charles to Tampa. It specializes in high-volume recycling of metal-based consumer products. The firm offers a wide range of services, including vessel and platform deconstruction, bridge deconstruction, industrial clearance, natural disaster debris management, etc. Southern Recycling has widespread ferrous, non-ferrous as well as stainless steel operations. It produces over 100 grades of recycled products and markets through its road, rail and shipping network. The company serves domestic mills, the commercial market and industrial users worldwide. In 2006, European Metal Recycling, Ltd. acquired Southern Recycling.
