      LAHBPA, also known as Louisiana Horsemen s Benevolent & Protective Association, is a self-funded assistance program for horsemen. The association provides various medical benefit plans to its members, employees and other eligible applicants. It offers financial assistance with eligible medical and hospital expenses. The association provides a variety of pension plans and workers compensation programs. It manages a staff of information systems specialists, internal auditors and administrative personnel. Headquartered in New Orleans, LAHBPA additionally publishes a monthly newsletter.
