I ordered a mardi GRAS special king cake with all the extras. It was a praline pecan KC. I had it shipped to family in CA and they were disappointed with it. The cake was fresh...but there was very little filling in cake. These cakes are way too expensive to be shipped anyway. If you order a filled cake Haydel's should overfilled it. This is my last KC from this bakery. Not worth the money!!!Too bad they are stingy with the filling. Upset and disappointed.

definitely the best overall bakery in the city. Everything is excellent, but not the cheapest in town. This place is a case of you get what you pay for. I always use them for parties and such. I call in my order a couple of days ahead and its always ready when I arrive. Their birthday cakes taste like wedding cake! The Cajun Kringle is awesome. Haydels does it right - every time! They are open Tuesday through Saturday on a regular basis. Also on Sunday during King Cake season.
