Terrible!!!! I have been there twice and each time they were unable to fix my shoes! The first time I took a pair of shoes there and they told me they would be ready in a week. I went back, they were not ready. He told me to come back in another week. After another week I returned and my shoes were not ready, they couldn't even find them! The person at the front desk could not understand English, so she had to call the owner from the back. He said they were not ready - I was so disgusted I asked for my shoes and left. That was last year. Ok, I figured after a year they should have it together, so I went over there on Monday with another pair of shoes. There was a sign on the counter saying they were not accepting anymore business. The owner came from the back and told me they are not accepting anymore business for about two weeks because he is overwhelmed. If business is that good, why can't he hire someone to help? I know that I will not go back there! If I could give half a star I would!

I went to the Mater Shoe Repair with a unique problem of repairing the soles of my fly fishing wader boots. The Shoeman actually hand sewed the felt bottoms perfectly into place. They worked great and he saved me the expense of buying new boots. Thanks Shoeman !!!!!

I have taken several items to be repaired or sharpened over the past several years and have been very satisfied with the results. Shoe repairers these days are few and far between and I believe New Bern is fortunate to have a master repairer in the community. His prices seem reasonable and he works hard at his craft in a one person business.

Most people love to pay as low price is posible for shoes and when they broke, they come to bargain with the shoemen and pay as little is posible on cheap plastic shoes. Get on style and wear LEATHER SHOES. Plastic is one time shoes. leather shoes its mean to be fix over and over... beside it shows right away... dont be cheap...

I have taken several pairs of shoes and other leather items to this shop over recent years. Most of the repairs have been satisfactory. My main complaint is that on two separate occasions I was told when to pick up my shoes; when I went back on that date (or days later) the shoes weren't ready. I was then told to come back in half an hour and they would be done. No apology for them not being ready on time. Both times I came back at a later date to avoid a rushed, and possibly sloppy, job. On one of these occasions the repair was not done properly or nicely & I didn't think it would hold up, so I took the shoes back. I was told that I must have tried to wear them before the glue was set, which was not the case. They simply weren't repaired correctly initially, which I saw when I picked them up but hesitated to say anything as I was already upset that I was charged more than the orignial quote. Being charged more than the quoted price happened twice. Need new option for repairs
