General Info

The Department of Botany is managed by the Board of Regents - University of Wisconsin System. The department offers graduate and undergraduate programs for students. It provides courses in general botany, fungi, introductory ecology, dendrology and plant geography. The Department of Botany also offers advanced instruction and research opportunities in phycology, bryology and ethnobotany. The department administers the Botany Graduate Studies and Research program. In addition, its campus features a biology library that maintains a collection of more than 40,000 books and journals with emphasis on plant physiology, biochemistry, plant systematics and ecology. The Department of Botany provides several facilities for research projects in plant science.
