I used twist and shout entertainment for our wedding cause my parents used them for their anniversary and the were awesome. They are easy to work with and very professional in everything they do. I would recommend them 100 percent.

We interviewed 4 local companies and went with DJ John due to his personality and attention to detail. Yes, we read some less than favorable reviews but being in retail we know that you will never please everyone. This company is a registered business and is insured as well. We interviewed 7 local DJ's in the Pittsburgh area and we were glad to come across DJ John from Twist and Shout Entertainment. Out of all the people we spoke to he seemed to be the best choice for us. His personality was outstanding, very friendly and easy to work with. I know that I was a demanding Bride and wanted just what I wanted and in a specific way. DJ John bent over backwards to accomodate me and my bridal party and did so with a smile on his face the whole time. He was very organized and professional in every sende of the word. DJ John kept in touch with us through the entire process to make sure that things were as perfect as they could be. We left the music selection up to him and he was able to get 99% of our crowd up on the dance floor all night. He participated in the line dances to make sure we were all doing them correctly and having fun. There is not one thing bad we can say about him except that we wish we could have partied longer with him that night. Everyone was so pleased, happy and had a great time. One of my bridesmaids even hired him that night for her wedding in 2012. Way to go DJ John. You made my special day one that I will always remember. I don't know how you did it but you even got my grandmother up to dance a song or two and she never does that. People of Pittsburgh, if you don't use DJ John of Twist and Shout Entertainment then you are risking your reception to a less than qualified company or DJ. My husband and I had the pleasure of having John as our DJ and Master of Ceremonies during our wedding last Saturday, June 5th, 2010. He was PHENOMENAL. We cannot express enough how great of a job he did with our wedding. Honestly, we had no doubts about him after only two face-to-face meetings, but he still managed to surprise us by exceeding our expectations.
We experienced a torrential downpour right as our outside ceremony was scheduled to begin, and John immediately stepped up and handled the rearranging of our ceremony to have our ceremony in the same location as our reception site. He eased my mind as I prepared to walk down the isle into a completely different situation than what was originally planned. He collaborated with all of our vendors, pastor, wedding coordinator, and those in charge of our reception hall to transform a potential disaster into a breath-taking ceremony that was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. John provided the music for our ceremony and timed each song exactly how I wanted, which made our entire event absolutely perfect.
We also had a bit of a fiasco with our cake and those responsible for providing it, and John handled it flawlessly. He's providing pictures of our cake so that we can address our cake situation accordingly, and he kept us up-to-date on their late arrival and poor product without making us panic about the outcome. Even in a situation where he wasn't required to get involved, John still took it upon himself to help us out in any way possible. What a guy :)
As far as his DJ services, John is in a category far above all others. He honored every single song request that I provided beforehand, which says a lot considering how many songs I requested. He is not bluffing when he advertises that he will keep you "dancing all night long"! Most of our wedding guests NEVER left the dance floor. Every single song he chose was a hit, and we had countless compliments from our guests on what an amazing entertainer he was. I already have a handful of people that want to use him at their next big event. WAY TO GO JOHN!
Furthermore, John has a flawless personality that shines just as bright as his fantastic MC talents. He says the right thing at the right time to make everyone laugh, and can make light of any situation he encounters. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and we can honestly say that he is not only a great DJ, but also a great friend that we will continue to keep in touch with :)
To all the brides-to-be: You WILL NOT be disappointed with John Padula as your MC for your special day. His prices are extremely reasonable and his services are fantastic and completely surpass the competition. It will be the best decision you will have made for your wedding, besides deciding to marry your soul mate of course!

We loved John!! He ended up being probably our favorite vendor! John was the only vendor that checked in with us over the year (almost all our vendors were booked 6-12 months in advance) just to see if we had any questions/concerns. He was also very proactive about getting in touch with us which was awesome because it was so nice to have one less thing to do. He called us a month prior to set up a final details call to go over everything we could think of, he called us exactly at the time he said he would. He did a great job the night of our wedding and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Even before the dance floor “opened” people were up there dancing, he was awesome. And he just really wanted to make us happy. We have had so many people come up and tell us how great John was and how our wedding was one of the most fun they'd been to because people were dancing all night. We love, love, love him. When we hired you we were so not into music and had no idea what to play at our wedding. The music we suggested you kind of balked at and at first that is what we wanted to play. When you suggested we play something else we actually had second thoughts but you came through with flying colors. OMG! you had people dancing that I have never seen dance before. Everyone from Grandma to my little cousind were up on the dance floor all night. I am not much of a dancer and I was out there half of the night with all our friends. You really rocked the place for our wedding and I know everyone will remember my reception forever. I know that Jeff and I will. We hired Dragon Karaoke and DJ for an Oldies theme party in May and it was outstanding. DJ John had more music than we could imagine. He had old 50's music that I forgot existed. It was so much fun dancing to all the great hits of our generation. We plan to use him again for an upcoming 70's Disco Party in July. FANTASTIC JOB DJ JOHN from Dragon Karaoke and dj service. We planned a "last minute" get together and found Dragon Karaoke on his website thru google. He was able to provide us with the entertainment we needed for our event at a reasonable cost and was very good to say the least. They had all the songs we wanted to siing and played alot of new favorites for us in between singers. DJ John the owner was just wonderful. We willuse them every year we are here.

Duquesne University Sorority Kappa'MU highly recommends DJ John from Dragon Karaoke and DJ Service. He performed at our semi formal and our formal this year and was the best. He played all the top hits, danced with us, and he was just the best we ever had. We will pass his business on to others here at Duquesne and to all our frinds elsewhere if they are looking for the BEST DJ for their party. Great guy to work with and very nice and good looking too.

We were married Married in February and hired DJ John for our reception. He was very professional, came hours before to set up a great looking DJ area and played an awesome array of music for our party. He was very entertaining, got up and danced with us and his lighting display was really nice too. He has a great personality and easy to get along with. He guided us through the reception flawlessly and at the end of the night we had him stay two more hours. At the last minute my daughter wanted a Birthday Karaoke Party at our home. I called 7 or 8 local DJ companies in our area an none of them could help me out EXCEPT John from Dragon Karaoke and DJ Service. We used DJ John from Dragon Karaoke and DJ Service for our wedding. We had 230 people and DJ John had us all up dancing and even danced with us to get us started on some line dance songs. His music was "out of this world" He really rocks. He had EVERYTHING we asked for and was fun, friendly and even stayed for 2 hours after our contract time. 2 Bridesmaids booked him for their upcoming weddings just because he was so great. We booked Dragon DJ Service for a Graduation Party for 100 kids. John, the DJ was on time and had a very professional set up. We had not met him before the party and was quite impressed with his personality and professionalism. He set things up in under 30 minutes and was up and running the show. Every body had a great time singing Karaoke and he played all the right music to dance to. Highly recommended on his prices and professional demeanor.

We contracted DJ John and Dragon Karaoke to do our wedding of 150 people this January. John set up on time and even helped with other things at the reception. WE CALLED DRAGON DARAOKE AND DJ SERVICE IN REPLY TO THE AD FOR THEME PARTIES. WE WERE LOOKING FOR AN OLDIES/DISCO PARTY AND JOHN REALLY CAME THRU FOR US. HIS EQUIPMENT WAS PROFESSIONAL AND MORE THAN WE EXPECTED. HE EVEN CAME DRESSED AS A 70'S HIPPY TO FIT INTO OUR CROWD AND SCHEME OF THINGS. HIS LIGHTING EFFECTS REALLY WOW'D US. GAVE US THE FEELING OF BEING IN A REAL DISCO. HE EVEN CAME OUT AND DANCED WITH THE GUESTS TO GET THEM STARTED.HE REPLIED TO OUR CALL AND EMAIL WITHING THE HOUR. WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR SOME OF THE OTHERS TO CALL BACK WEEKS AFTER THE PARTY. HE WAS EARLY TO SET UP AND STAYED AN EXTRA HOUR FOR FREE UNTIL THE LAST GUEST LEFT THE PARTY. WE HAD A BUDGET IN MIND AND HE WAS WAY UNDER WHAT WE HAD THOUGHT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR SUCH A GREAT SHOW. ALL OF OUR GUEST LOVED HIM AND THE MUSIC WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. The office staff here at Patel Medical Associates want to thank Dragon Karaoke and DJ service for a wonderful time at our yearly Christmas/New Year party. John Padula the DJ was very fun and helped us get the party livened up. He sang a few songs to loosen up the crownd and we have to say that he has a beautiful voice too. When no one was singing he played all the right music to lure people to the dance floor. He had a great light show that we did not expect or even ask for so that was a big surprise for us. He did a great job and we will have him back again for any other party in the future. His prices were very reasonable too. We were on a budget and he was able to meet us at what we had. Very Friendly and came in plenty of time to set up with extra equipment in case of any problems. We loved it and recommend him 100%
As a professional Athlete who donates much of my time to helping Children I occasionally get to meet some of the outstanding people and companies out there who do much of the same and yet go unnoticed. I would like to take the time to commend a Company by the name of Dragon Karaoke and DJ Service owned and operated by John Padula, for taking the time during the holidays and giving up the time for some needy children looking to have a wonderful Christmas who have no families to spend it with. John voluntarily brought his equipment in for a three hour Christmas show that was sponsered by myself and the Pittsburgh Steeler Organization. He played Christmas music and had a great Karaoke sing a long with the kids. They had a fantastic time and he catered to everyones needs and made the children feel special and wanted.Going one step further he also brought gifts in that were donated by local stores and himself. It gives me a warm, wonderful feeling to know that there are others out there willing to go the extra distance to help someone in need and John did so by opening up his heart and soul to these children. I can't say enough about his thoughfulness and kindness in taking the time to go out of the way to help and support our charities and children involved. His actions were very much appreciated and will stay in our hearts forever.
