Sierra is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and the state of Arizona as a Level 1 psychiatric hospital. It employs experienced therapists, interventionists, physicians, psychiatrists and counselors. Sierra Tucson provides individualized treatment for various addictions and mental health issues, such as alcohol and chemical dependency, anabolic steroid abuse, compulsive gambling, nicotine and sexual addiction, and compulsivity disorders. The centre also treats eating, mood and dual disorders and trauma-related disorders. Additionally, it provides numerous therapies, such as primary therapy and 12-step groups, psychoeducation, didactic lectures, individual sessions, pharmacotherapy, relapse prevention, family programs, acupuncture, chiropractic, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, reiki, and Somatic Experiencing.
