      Sunshine in October is an organization that aims to provide a temporary retreat victims of abuse in the Kansas City, Missouri area. The retreat consists of a week long getaway in a beautiful log cabin on the lake. While at the cabin the women will be offered counseling services, meals, and nature trails, and more. The Camp Ground can accommodate up to three women each week. There will always be a group leader and domestic violence counselor on site with the women. While at the retreat the women will be engaged in a variety of different activities, from creating art and fellowship to boating. The retreat will be offered free of charge to the women. Sunshine in October works with adult abuse centers in Missouri to enroll the women in the retreat.
