I'm Stephanie Barenz, a mixed media artist and art teacher based in Madison, Wisconsin, creating artworks about the way places form us, especially those centered around bodies of water. Using several processes, including drawing, collage, painting, and photography, my creative practice responds to the transformative potential of displacement and the encounter with new spaces.
