Sal's Service Center is an excellent resource for the stranded motorist. My car recently died in the driveway of son's home in Ridgefield, CT, while my son and his wife were in Poland and I was taking care of my grandchildren (I leave in Ithaca, NY). The car quit Saturday afternoon around 5 pm. I went on line, and around 8:30 Saturday night I put in a call to Sal's not thinking to actually reach anyone, but to leave a message. Someone answered and said that Sal's is open Sundays from 9 to 7, to call back in the morning, and they would take care of my problem (thoroughly kaput battery it turned out). They did a beautiful job of restoring my car to life in an expeditious and reasonably price manner. Plus, all the staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient! The grandchildren loved watching my car being hauled away! I was ready to head home Monday at 8 am, so no one's schedules were disturbed. I thoroughly recommend Sal's Service Center!!!

Used to be a pretty reliable place but service has declined dramatically in the past few years. My last experience (and last time I'll ever go there) they charged me for work they had done but didn't tell me until after I had paid that they were unable to do the work that was most important and necessary. I had realized that the bill was too low and asked why, but the service-person wouldn't tell me until after I had paid for the work that was done. Nevertheless, I took my car elsewhere and had it fixed with no problems so I don't even want to know why they couldn't do it.
