I highly recommend Port Washington Animal hospital. Dr. Farmiloe is very kind to the animals, very thorough, and takes his time explaining things. His prices are very fair. He seems to genuinely love the animals and is very patient with them and their owners! I have been to many vets and he is one of the best. He was very accurate with all my pets diagnoses and treatment!

My family has been going to Port Washington Animal Hospital since 1970. We moved from Brooklyn and we got a beagle pupply from a lumber yard. I know that sounds odd, but the owner had a litter of puppies. My Dad didn't have a vet and the lumber yard owner recommended Port Washington Animal Hospital. At that time, we saw Dr. Kronfeld. He has since retired. We then started seeing Dr. Farmiloe. He was very knowledgeable and caring. He always took the time to answer all of our questions and I've never felt rushed. I've also phoned him quite a few times and he has always called me back and given me the answers I needed. He has done surgeries and dental work on three of my dogs. (Over 40 years of going there we have had four dogs). I wish they were closer to where I live, but Dr. Farmiloe is worth the trip. I have given his name to many different people over the years. The staff too is very pleasant, in person and over the phone. Having confidence in your vet is very important.

I just recently moved to the area from California and I needed a vet for an emergency. Thru the yellow pages I found the Port Wash Animal Hosp. I was pleased at how accommodating the office was since I walked in without an appointment very early in the morning on a Monday. I was overwhelmed at the proffessionalism of the doctor as well as the front desk staff. I have since become a regular client and have seen all 4 doctors in the practice. They all have shown such genuine concern for my dog. The individualized attention makes me feel very comfortable and I know my dog is in good hands. I would highly recommend this practice to every pet owner. I no longer miss my vet on the west coast.

Very displeased with this vet. The vet had to try 5 times to take a blood sample from my dog. I've never had this problem before and she's had blood taken many times previously. The vet tried to take blood from her neck while she was standing up, who does that? She is a giant breed dog and they are not set up for that at all. They didn't even have the space to examine her fully. She had a skin infection and the vet prescribed only 1 week of antibiotics, where every other vet in the universe would prescribe at least 3 weeks of antibiotic therapy for a staph infection. The office staff isn't friendly either.

Dr. Joe is the most amazing wonderful vet I have ever come across. He really cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to anyone who loves their animal as much as I do.
