Pate Asphalt Systems has been serving customers throughout the Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Iowa City areas for over 35 years. The company brings more than three generations of construction experience to all their projects. Beginning in the 1930's George Pate owned and operated Black Hawk Sand Co., an aggregate materials business in southeast Iowa. George's son, Paul Pate Sr, co-founded PM Blacktop, in 1973. Today Paul Pate II and his children bring a fourth generation to carry that same level of service and expertise to clients. Pate Asphalt Systems has a reputation for professionalism and quality workmanship that spans over three decades.
