Mike's automotive has done work on my car for years, and for the most part they did pretty good work. But I brought it in a little over a year ago because it was running very poorly, they told me that it needed a tune up, I thought this was a little bit strange considering that there shop had tuned it up once before, but I was given some BS about how cars with higher mileage create more Carbon and the tune up might have gone bad. I took them at there word and let them do the tune up, that didn't fix the problem, then they told me that it needed new o2 sensors and quoted me a price of around $260 Dollars to replace them, bear in mind that O2 sensors on my car are only about $45 dollars a piece and it takes about 15 minutes worth of work to install them. When I questioned them about why they were charging me $65 Dollars a piece for parts that I could buy over at O'Reilly Auto Parts for $45 they told me that O'Reilly's sold poor quality parts, & they got there parts from Advanced Auto parts, Advanced sells the same part for about the same price. After being confronted with they finally admitted that they do, do a significant mark up on there parts to keeps the light on. My car finally deteriorated to the point where I had to take it again, this time I took it to a shop out in Blue Springs and within a very short period of time, the shop properly diagnosed the issue as my car having some significant vacuum leaks. It was a costly repair, but it did resolve the issue. Without going into all of the reasons why a common side effect with Vacuum leaks is that they tend to damage or burn out the ignition coils. This was a part that Mike Automotive had replaced a year previously when he gave me the tune up that I didn't need. When I called in the person that I talked to seemed far more interested in covering her ass then trying to make the issue right, and refused to warranty out the part. Up until that point I had been a loyal customer for years, no more.

I just recently moved to Grandview and did not now where to start looking when my water pump went out in my car. I read the great reviews about Mike's and I am so glad I did! They were booked the day I called but they told me if I got my car in quickly they MIGHT be able to get it done. I dropped the car off at 10am and they called me at 2pm and told me my car was finished. I paid the same price they quoted me on the phone, no suprise extra charges when I got there. They were so nice through the whole experience. My brother-in-law dropped me off to pick up my car and was telling Mike about his car and how much he had been quoted by another repair shop. Mike said he might be able to save him $600 if he let him take a look at it! Very fair prices. He is a great guy, not only did he save me from calling in to my job but he also might be able to help my brother-in-law too. I would DEFINITELY recommend anyone to take their car there!

I love this place. Ive been in...

I love this place. Ive been in Kansas city for almost 5 years now and every time something goes wrong with my car i make sure that mike is the one to fix it. Every time that i have been there they have been fast, courteous, and rather speedy. the first time i ever used them i needed a new radiator. every other shop quoted me at about 800 dollars and it would be about a week until it was done, Mike did it for 600, had it done the day after i called him, and it lasted for the rest of the life of the car with no problems(almost 2 years).

My last experience was by far the best though. I had a leaking heater core hose that i needed fixed fast(i had to be at work in 4 hours). I called and they told me to get it there fast so it would have a chance to cool down plenty. After letting it cool for about an hour they started working and had it replaced in 15 minutes. He even replaced my distributor "o" ring for free.

There are two things that i absolutely love about this shop. 1st is that after diagnostics are done, Mike or Susan will give you a call to let you know exactly what they plan on doing and about how much it will cost. 2nd is that i have never been charged for fluids, clamps, or any other weird little things.

BEWARE!! TERRIBLE customer service, very RUDE, argumentative, unprofessional!!!! They had my vehicle for 5 days and quoted a repair price. Then they tried to charge 25% more and had not even worked on it yet. Then they said they would waive the 25% upcharge but when I went to pay for it, they had changed their mind and didn't fix my vehicle at all!!! I have waited 5 days and now I have to start over!!!

Mike Auto is great! Always qua...

Mike Auto is great! Always quality work, Mike is always really helpful and is willing to do whatever it takes. He is honest and fair. He knows his stuff. Just had an issue with a repair that he did a few months ago. Had to go out of town immediately, he replaced the faulty part, had the job done immediately, and only charged me half the labor. Great guy. Would recommend to anyone!
