Established in 1965, Lookout Mountain Community Services assists children and adults with mental retardation and developmental disabilities throughout Georgia. Its mental health care services for adults include case management, psychological rehabilitation, housing assistance and supported employment. The organization s children and adolescent services include foster care, home-based treatment, and individual, group and family counseling. Lookout Mountain Community Services offers prevocational skills training and respite care services. Additionally, it provides medical and nursing care, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapy services. The organization also offers services for the victims of drug and alcohol abuse. Lookout Mountain Community Services provides housing opportunities through independent apartments and personal care and consumer-owned homes. It maintains one of its centers in Chickamauga, Ga.
