Its computational research division conducts applied research and development in computer science and applied mathematics. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory also manages the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center, which offers computing, information and data services. The laboratory s physical biosciences division works to produce energy from solar and biological sources. In addition, it operates engineering, physics and environmental energy technologies divisions. Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is operated by the University of California.
