About J.C. Holston I started J. C. Holston Construction full-time in 1972. We were J. C. Holston Home Improvement for a long time. I have been around remodeling and construction works all of my life because my father was in the painting and improvement business. I worked each summer with my father starting in 1956. When I graduated from high school and went into the Army, I used my skills to improve around whatever company I was assigned. My construction skills help me to be promoted early, be assigned easy duty, and earn extra money on my off-duty time. When I was discharged on June 20, 1966, I was with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg North Carolina. I went to work with Allied Chemical in Columbia, South Carolina, I would earn extra money from coworkers building additions, remodeling kitchens, bathrooms, dens, attic conversions etc. I left Allied Chemical in June 1972 and started trimming the interior of new houses, building cabinets, vanities, bars and installing all of the interior wood trim.
