I contracted with HouseMaster's in Churchville, MD to conduct a home inspection of a home I was interested in purchasing. Unfortunately the inspector did not do a thorough job of inspecting the house and many items were missed that could have been addressed by the sellers had I been made aware of them prior to closing. Half of the inspection was done without me being present. Had I not insisted that the inspector go back over what he claimed to have inspected a significant leak in the foyer would not have been detected. I was referred to House Masters by my realtor who trusted judgment. Soon after moving in we've had multiple roof and window leaks, we've attempted to patch leaks as much as possible, but after having multiple contractors come look at the property they insisted that the poor condition of the roof, improperly installed siding, and moisture damage should have been detected by a qualified home inspector.
