General Info

For the past 30+ years, I have had a full-time Family Therapy and Consultation practice in Woodbury, CT. I have worked with families, couples, and individuals during times of crisis, including marital conflict, substance abuse problems, eating disorders, adolescent problems, infertility, depression, and bereavement. I am a licensed substance abuse therapist in Connecticut, where I have consulted for local schools and substance abuse program, and I am a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the Connecticut Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Anyone with signs of distress, anxiety, anger issues or substance abuse may benefit from psychotherapy. Major life events which bring about change in a person's life are reasons people seek therapy. You do not need to be married to see a marriage and family therapist. I treat anyone of any age, gender, or sexual orientation who is motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives. As a marriage and family therapist, I work from a family systems model. Family members with symptoms serve some function for the whole family. Their pathology meets certain needs in the family as a whole. By treating the whole family, this cycle can be broken and all family members protected. My degrees include the Masters of Marital and Family Therapy at Southern Connecticut State University and the Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Fairfield University. I am also a certified Gestalt Therapist. I have done youth work, high school guidance counseling over a five-year period, and extensive reentry work with ex-offenders. My background also includes wide-ranging experience with infertility issues. Please call me for an in-person or virtual appointment. Day and evening hours available. EDUCATION: B.A., Marymount Manhattan College, Sociology / Urban Studies, 1972; M.A., Fairfield University, Pastoral Counseling, 1977; M.F.T., Southern CT State University, Marriage and Family Therapy, 1986.
