Florida's Great Northwest embraces an aggressive marketing campaign aimed at new and existing businesses that promotes the assets and opportunities in Northwest Florida. Our organization is also heavily engaged in workforce initiatives that retain and attract a skilled workforce to support the region's employment needs. The organization is the administrator and facilitator for the U.S. Department of Labor WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development) Grant. Its WIRED Northwest Florida Initiative is designed to create high-wage, high-skill jobs within the region in the four target industries of aviation, aerospace, defense and national security; health sciences and human performance enhancement; renewable energy and the environment; transportation, logistics services and international trade; and the two strategic support industries of information technology and research and engineering.
