General Info
In the 1930s, electric cooperatives brought light and power to far-reaching stretches of North Carolina, giving generations a better quality of life. Today, EnergyUnited shares that same dedication toward improving lives as a not-for-profit, member-owned electric cooperative. EnergyUnited was formed in 1998 when electrical cooperative members overwhelmingly voted to consolidate Crescent and Davidson Electric Membership Corporations. These two established cooperatives served customers for 60 years. Headquartered in Statesville, EnergyUnited is the third largest supplier of residential electricity in the state with a service territory that stretches south from the Virginia border and includes three of North Carolina's largest cities Charlotte, Winston-Salem, and Greensboro. Because it is a cooperative, EnergyUnited's customers own the company, elect its board of directors, and vote on policies at annual meetings. The cooperative is not in business to make a profit, but to provide a needed service at the lowest possible cost to its member customers. We'd also like to introduce you to our line of products and services for both our residential and business customers. As an EnergyUnited residential customer you can protect your homes electronics and appliances with Triple Surge Guard, and keep your home up and running during power outages with our Home Standby Generators. You can also choose to support North Carolina's renewable energy program by signing up for NC GreenPower.
