Beware! This Direct heating and cooling cold calls the elderly and tricks them into unneeded services, They called my elderly mother and misrepresented themselves as her Air conditioning company she has a contract with. They performed unauthorized, unneeded work, invalidated the warranty on the AC unit, and charged almost $2,000 on her credit card. Read other reviews and go to the BBB website. Please report to the State Elderly Abuse Hotline if you have a problem with this company.
The most horrendous AC company to do business with! They came out and serviced the AC unit in a house we just bought, and the AC would not work a day later (they forgot to clean the humidity water discharge line).
When they did not respond to my call, I contacted a neighborhood company (Symbiont Service Corporation, Inc.), who came right out.
An inspection of our complete system showed leaking coolant in addition to the blocked discharge line. The owner said the unit in the house needed to be replaced, and that the previous tech should have noticed the problems. Symbiont said that they could make weekly service calls to replace the coolant, but that I was running the risk of the unit completely failing in the interim.
I called Matthew Poteet, the General Manager of Direct Heating and Cooling, who said that they did nothing wrong. He also said that they charged $1,295 for a UV light that they did install, and which anyone can buy on-line for $495.00. He said that is their policy.
He offered me $400.00 of my $2,095 back for my trouble, I declined and will pursue legal recourse.
If I could give them no stars, I would.
BUYER BEWARE. This company installed air handler for my mother in 2008 after I gave permission since I had notified them that my mother had Alzheimer's. Then in 2010 for an additional 3,000 they installed another air handler without my permission. It was not needed and according to the Charlotte County permit department, no permit was pulled and it was never inspected. Because of them taking advantage of her I had to move her to another state. They took advantage of her because of her illness. They even had the nerve to have her sign paperwork that she could make her own decisions. Of course all the work was totally wrong and had to be redone at our expense. They got my mother for over $8,000 in 3 years.

Do not ever have this air conditioning company come to your house for any reason even if you have a contract with them I would not let them and my house I am an air conditioning service tech for another company and I have heard over a hundred stories about this company and they were even on the news about ripping people off
BEWARE !! This company has several differant names & numbers, I paid them $6000 They not only put in the wrong A/C unit But didnt do it right...I could go on & on Feel free to contact me BGThrasher@hotmail.com All I want is my money back but they are rude & cold

I had these people out to my home. They tried every scare tactic in the book. ie. rusted out , full of mold, installed wrong, restriction in freon system. I kicked them out with out payment, and told them if they did not leave I would call the cops. I spoke to my friends and neighbors and they all told me that it was a known fact about this company that they were crooks. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS COMPANY IS STILL IN BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
