Brenden Designs is run by Teaching Artist Laurie Brenden. A Teaching Artist is someone who is an active artist and who teaches others how to be creative. She has a Master’s of Education in Gifted Education and taught school for five years. Starting in 2003, she started offering group art classes. While in 2005 she started teaching private and semi-private art lessons. Besides the instruction portion of her business, Miss Brenden also takes art commissions, does custom art work and mural painting and does calligraphy. She has been drawing and painting since she was a child, along with other love, writing. She writes poetry and was a journalist for many years. Today, she still does freelance writing and editing as well lay-out and design. Known about town as Miss Laurie, she enjoys doing community events and often combines storytelling and art.
