I've hired my share of handymen over of the years, and I don't remember asking the same person twice, for various reasons--too dirty, too inept, discourteous, unreasonably expensive, etc. So I set about dong more Internet searching and found Jeff of Affordable Mr. Fix It. I had a couple of shutters that needed reattaching and holes in the ceiling that needed mending. Jeff came by--very clean and neatly dressed--and, speaking softly and politely, explained how he would address the issues. Subsequently, he emailed what seemed to be a very reasonable figure, I agreed to it and sent a retainer check for half the amount. He and his crew came by and completed the job quickly and efficiently. What surprised me was his dedication to doing a job that would be acceptable even in his own home. After the crew left, he helped clean up and conscientiously inspected every portion of the work. The dry wall patch for one ceiling wouldn't dry quick enough for him to sand it down properly, so he gave me an option: He could come back the next day to finish it, or I could sand it down myself and he'd deduct it from the total. I chose the latter. I have had other jobs and feel confident in calling Affordable Mr. Fix It. If the job is not doable, I know that he will honestly tell me what he can or can't do. Being reasonable and efficient are good enough reasons to recommend Affordable Mr. Fix It, but his courtesy, honesty and conscientiousness separate him from the rest.

Jeff was terrific. Always punctual, always courteous, and willing to discuss options available to me. He helped me check into some damage he uncovered while working here, to find out how big the problem was. I'd call him back to "fixit" in a heartbeat.

I have had the pleasure of working with Jeff more than once already and will continue to call upon him in the future. He is very thorough and honest in his assesments and does not look for "additional" work to be done. He is very dependable and is certain to do a job well. As stated, I will continue to contact Jeff for work in the future and would recommend him and his work to anyone looking for honesty and efficiency to do the same.
