We recently purchased a 2001 Class A motorhome, and we were headed to Pismo on our first outing. It was very slow to start, and showed a low battery warning. Stopped at Costco for fuel, barely got it restarted. Decided to stop by A1 Battery on the way out of town, and called to make sure we could get through without backing up. They assured us they would make that happen. A tech was waiting in the 104 degree heat to direct us where we needed to park, and three techs immediately set to work checking out the batteries. One of the two engine batteries was bad, and they recommended replacing both of them since they are linked and were six years old. They were done in 15 minutes - almost. Turned out the starter was shot, too. It was now 5pm on a Friday, and the parts houses were closed. A1 Battery sells batteries, but also tests and sells alternators, cables, and starters, but didn't have one for the motorhome in stock at the Rosedale store. They called the tech at another location who specializes in starters, and he had a superior replacement available. Realize that these guys were supposed to be off at 5.... Instead, the tech delivered the replacement to the Rosedale location, where the Rosedale techs had the old starter off and were ready to go. They did the install and turned the key - and the new, more powerful replacement starter cranked that diesel over with authority. Far superior to the original starter in every way.
The entire time we were there, the staff and the owner treated us like they were honored to be working for us. They went far above and beyond to get us back on the road the same day, with a much better operating machine, and with an attitude of joyous service rarely seen in this day and age. They stayed an hour past closing to take care of a customer, without hesitation, and at an exceptionally low price. Owner Kent Tackett has grown a culture of customer service second to none. I can't imagine going anywhere else in the future.

They took my money and gave me a dead battery and now they are ignoring me from one day to the next...

If I had this review my way, this facility would not even get half a star from me. My aunt had recently become a victim to fraudulent charges being made on her credit card. Seven thousand dollars was spent at one of the facilities, without the credit card. My aunt was in possession of her credit card the entire time it was being used. The sales associate never asked for an ID and was perfectly fine with calling the credit card company for an approval charge of seven thousand dollars. No questions asked. When my aunt found out her card was being used, she called the store and was told "it is not our company policy to ID someone because they are spending seven thousand dollars on twenty vehicle batteries". No remorse, not even admitting that it was a mistake on the companies part or even their own. I will make sure that everyone is warned about this companies policy, when it comes to a possible fraudulent charge.

I needed a battery for my Ranger. l met with one of the service reps, within 2minutes of arriving, we discussed my options and I decided to up-grade to a jell battery,(I didn't know they made such a thing, go ahead and laugh) instead of acid filled. At check out I was given a discount for my military service, and with a gift card that I had received I ended up paying a little less for the jell battery than an acid battery would have cost me. I know that the commercial on KNZR always says that "A-1 battery is so honest that it is the only place I would recommend." I could not agree more, I have been buying batteries from them since the early 1970s and have never been dissatisfied, keep up the good work guys. And thank you for caring about the vets. God Bless

Car trouble is the absolute worst! Had my battery completely die out of the blue yesterday, and had to jump it to start it everytime. Got to work this morning and called when they opened at 8, and literally by 9:30 their mobile service guy (Jacob, I think?) had come to my work and 1) cleaned my connections of the old corrosion 2) replaced my battery and 3) even reset my car clock for me. The experience could not have been any better or more painless! Everyone I spoke with was super friendly and helpful. Will be recommending them to everyone I know!

Must be having a bad day. I have had many positive experiences in the past but today I was quickly pulled into the garage and told I had a dead battery as I expected. The tech quoted me $89 for a 4 year and $98 for a 5 year. I told him to install the 4 year and I headed to the office. When paying it came to $135. When I told Andrew the GM that I was quote $89 he asked the tech and was told no quote was given. I asked the tech and was told that I wasn't paying any attention to him and that I was lying. Not wanting to argue I went back in the office and was told that they could put the old battery in if I want. Thinking that was silly I paid for the battery and left. Not what I was expecting as far as customer service, probably a great battery but just not interested in getting treated like that again. I understand people have bad days so I might go back, might not.

i had my Subaru Outback's battery replaced here. very genuine price, quick service. i was in and out of the place with in 30 minutes.
