General Info

Built-in 1835, this bed and breakfast are just two blocks from the business and shopping district of Natchez. Pleasant Hill was originally built by John Henderson, a prosperous merchant, publisher of the local newspaper, and a founder of Natchez' First Presbyterian Church. The original home was built on property that is now the location of another famous antebellum home, Magnolia Hall. Over a two-year period during 1850s Pleasant Hill was moved one block south on log rollers by oxen teams. The garden floor houses three bedrooms, each with private bath, that open into a center hall/sitting area. There is also a glass-enclosed, brick-floored Sun Room with wet bar, TV and antique wicker furniture with views of the back yard gardens. Pleasant Hill is one of the tour homes on both the Natchez Spring Pilgrimage of Antebellum Homes and the Natchez Fall Pilgrimage of Antebellum Homes (note: if you stay overnight during the pilgrimage, people visiting the home do not go to the guest's area). Overnight guests also receive a tour of the home.Built-in 1835, this bed and breakfast are just two blocks from the business and shopping district of Natchez.
