      General Info
      The Public Works Department, governed by the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in Tennessee, is responsible for the construction management and inspection of pavements and sidewalks. It operates an administration and finance division that contains finance, customer service, information systems and human resources sections. The department issues excavation and grading permits. Its street services division offers maintenance and repair services for traffic signals, pavement markings and street lights. The division also provides and barricade placement services to divert traffic from dangerous situations. In addition, the Public Works Department offers hazardous material and roadway snow and ice removal programs. The department provides installation and maintenance solutions for parking meters.
