General Info
Unlike furniture stores, which sell only mass-produced, imported bunk beds, 1-800-BunkBed creates custom made, solid wood bunk beds that are built to last a lifetime. Our beds are affordable & beautifully made by local craftsman who take the time to assure that your bed is made to your satisfaction. See for yourself the 1-800-BunkBed difference! Our Story 1-800-BunkBed is a company made up of hundreds of individual craftsmen that operate their own independent woodworking business and live and work in your community. We cover all 50 states as well as most of Canada. We make sturdy, stable beds that are intended to last for generations. These are beds that your children can give to their grandchildren. We start with a basic design and then custom make each bed to your specification, along with extras such as built-in desks, dressers, and stairs with drawers. Best of all, we do this without busting your budget. Most of the time our pricing is lower than the big box stores. Behind the story 1-800-BunkBed started in a small plastic tent in 1993 by Jim Rees, a father who wanted bunk beds for his own children. He had shopped around and found only flimsy, poorly constructed or outrageously expensive beds. Jim built a bed that not only looked good but was also safe and sturdy. In fact, it was such a great bed that his nieces and nephews wanted their own. And so did their friends. Eventually, Jim realized he couldn't make enough beds to fill the demand, so he decided to provide a business opportunity for others. Through 1800BunkBed, craftsmen across the country and Canada use Jim's time-tested business program to create affordable, quality furniture for people in their own community.
