love this place

For the last 5 years my Husband and I have been staying at the Darlington. Not only due to the Price But due to the Family Atmosphere and the cleanliness! Terry and his Wife are Marvelous People and so is the Staff. It's right across from the 2nd Ave Pier and just steeps away from EVERYTHING! And I don't know about you, But I like knowing that when I travel with my Pets, They are WELCOMED and are treated like a Family member as well. Now we have stayed in a lot of places in Myrtle Beach, But NONE has ever felt like Home until we stayed at the Darlington. Now it's our HOME AWAY FROM HOME 3-4 TIMES A YEAR! i.e., A local favorite, or highly recommended becauseIf you want to stay in an awesome CLEAN, PET FRIENDLY, PEOPLE FRIENDLY HOTEL AND SEE THE BEACH from your room?.....THEN THE DARLINGTON IS FOR YOU!! We love that not only are you giving your money to an AWESOME AMERICAN COUPLE you still have money to go and do things while your at the beach! the rooms are EXTREEMLY CLEAN (don't know about you but that's #1 on my list). We HAD AN AWESOME VIEW OF THE OCEAN and were in walking distance to many of the attractions. Will go to them EVERY TIME WE VISIT MYRTLE BEACH and are planning on going again this month (can't wait)!! We took an unexpected trip to Myrtle Beach and had checked into another pet friendly "hotel" and immediately checked out, it was terrible. We went driving up and down the beach looking for another pet friendly place to stay and found The Darlington. The owner and his family were amazing! We rented a one bedroom cottage from him that was exceptionally nice. The rate was also fantastic, especially for as nice of a place as we got. We had a great time and are already recommending the place to our friends and family. Thank you for a great, fun stay!

I am staying here right now and although this is my 1st trip here it will NOT be our last!!!! Terry the owner is amazing at making you feel comfortable and at home during your visit!!! I perfer this hotel over the much larger ones not only for the price but the cleaniness and welcomeness. I can not wait to get back here soon!!!! Thank you Terry and employees for making my vacation relaxing and enjoyable!!!!! The Darlington is the place to stay when traveling to Myrtle Beach SC!!!!

We want to inform ppl of the treatment that we got from The Darlington. We stayed 3 times and we were the only guests there, so the owners knew us by name. We decided to take our family there for the 4th of July week. We made reservations and got a price for the week and made a dep. for the rm. We called several times to check the price that they gave us for that wk and to get a receipt for our dep. We also went back to the beach for a small wkend stay and sat with them to talk about what rm that we would be staying in and our bal for the rm and it was always the same. We were told that they do not give receipts and that out bank statement was the confirmation of our dep and payment for our rm. I decided to call & check on my bal. a wk before arrival and they had went up $100 more. I asked why and they said they needed to call me back. I called back 3 days later after no response and they had canceled my reservation. They were not going to tell us. So we had to find another place.
