Provided by YP.comI have generally always welcomed Five Guys with open arms... be it for their free toppings, or the trans-fat free, no preservatives menu. When I went in the other day though I was disappointed when I asked for a Little Cheeseburger (1 patty) plain and the woman at the register charged me for a Cheeseburger (2 patties). I also got an order of Cajun fries (never had them before but had a nice kick).
After waiting the pretty average 8 minutes for it to come out, I took a seat and discovered my fries were covered in grease, something I don't believe has ever happened before. (Whatever though because they're fries).
While I was finishing up my meal I noticed the girl sweeping the floor going table to table asking everyone how their food was. When she was at the table next to mine they had told her that this was their first trip there. I obviously eavesdropped to hear what they thought of the place.
They asked her why the place was called "Five Guys" and she delightfully responded because there were five guys who started the business... then preceded it with "I think there names were like Chad, Tyler but I can't remember the others" and then started laughing profusely. They smiled politely then asked her how many five guys there was in Pittsburgh and she said there was only three.
At this point I got up and left. My suggestion to the company... If you want to spread your business information by word of mouth, you might want to instill someone who knows more about what they are talking about... or train them before they are aloud to walk around tables.
I still love Five Guys but the Monroeville one will not be receiving anymore of my business. I would prefer to go somewhere where the people know what they are doing and who they are as a company.
Five guys is my favorite burger joint. It?s a great value with generous portions, but more importantly the food is great! I like that the food is prepared in front of you and in minutes it is ready for you to take out or dine in. Also, don?t forget about the complimentary peanuts!
