General Info
The Murfreesboro Historical Association owns a collection of historic properties which are available for self-guided tours using your smartphone on the Built Story App. There are two tours currently available - a History Tour of the town that will take you to locations of historical signifcance , and a "Ghosts, Legends, and Lore" Tour with 20 stops filled with local folklore and legends. MHA hosts an annual Candlelight Christmas Tour where guests sample delicious treats while touring beautifully decorated and restored buildings. MHA has three museums - The Brady C. Jefcoat Museum of Americana, the Rea Museum which hosts historical artifacts from the area, and the Agriculture and Transportation Museum which houses antique farm equipment, carriages, buggies, canoes, and even an early "aeroplane" developed by a local inventor before the success of the Wright Brothers.
