The Mundelein Park and Recreation District is a governmental agency providing parks, facilities and recreation programs for the community. It is located in Mundelein, Ill., and is responsible for maintenance, operation and administration of parks and recreation facilities under its jurisdiction. The park district is governed by the elected commissioners and improves its programs and facilities through its community residents suggestions. It also provides a fully equipped fitness and recreation facility, pool and track. It offers various types of memberships to the residents. The park district operates and funds a senior center, which is a multipurpose center with a wide selection of recreation activities and senior services. In addition, the Mundelein Park and Recreation District operates the learning center preschool program that is designed to provide education through recreational programs.
