While these two markets have completely separate and distinct requirements, the company offers each a complete package, including detailed methods, customer applications and service support. Based upon the analytical technology known as liquid chromatography, an elegant, non-destructive analytical chemistry technique for separating a mixture of compounds, Pickering Laboratories system makes it possible to identify a wide range of compounds specifically and with high sensitivity. For the environmental market the lab provides testing systems for pesticides and herbicides. The United States Environmental Protection Agency and foreign government agencies are concerned about the possibility of migrating toxic residues and have mandated testing of drinking water supplies.
