Mountain Electric Cooperative is a member owned, nonprofit Tennessee Valley Authority distributor of quality, economical and dependable electricity. The co-op serves more than 31,500 customers in western N.C. and northeast Tenn. with co-op headquarters in Mountain City, Tenn. and branch offices in Newland N.C. and Roan Mountain Tenn. The electric co-op provides services to commercial and industrial customers using in-house engineers in conjunction with technical assistance available through the TVA.

I BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND ALWAYS PAID MY BILLS. MOUNTAIN ELECTRIC CAME OUT TO CUT OFF POWER THIS WEEK EVEN THOUGH WE HAD PAIDED OUR BILL. IT WAS A BILLING PROBLEM THAT THEY DID NOT LOOK INTO.THE PEOPLE IN OFFICE WAS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL TO MY WIFE. A WORKER CAME TO CUT OFF THE POWER AND HE WAS NICE AND WILLING TO HELP. IF WE HAD A CHOICE OF POWER COMPANIES I WOULD HAVE SWITCHED THAT DAY.
