      General Info
      Located in Mount Vernon, Wash., the Skagit County Public Health Department offers a variety of programs for individuals and families. It provides a food protection program to prevent illnesses caused by the improper preparation of food. The department also offers immunization and vaccination programs to protect adults and children from various diseases, such as polio, typhoid, yellow fever, measles, mumps and rubella. It provides consulting services on topics related to food and water precautions and insect-borne diseases and protection measures. The department also issues birth and death certificates. It offers nutritional, nursing, and child and family health care services. The Skagit County Public Health Department also provides information on precautionary measures for tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases. It offers a nutritional program that includes breast-feeding support and referral services for women. The department provides drinking water, food protection and liquid waste programs.
