Madison Elementary School has an enrollment of more than 400 students in kindergarten through grade six. Founded in 1954, the school is a part of Mount Vernon Schools. It provides bilingual, special education and English Language Learners programs. Madison Elementary School also offers English as a Second Language and programs for immigrants. The school employs subject teachers, nurses, counselors, psychologists and librarians. Its academic curriculum includes English, language arts, math, science and social studies. Madison Elementary School also provides classes in physical education, music and art. The school has a library that stocks a collection of picture dictionaries, storybooks, and fiction and nonfiction books. It is governed by Mount Vernon, Wash.
