I have shopped Menards for the last twenty yrs, I will say that the Menards on Oaks Rd has been the Top Home Goods store in the City of Racine,

I ordered salt melt for delivery from this store. They brought WRONG stuff which was a rock salt. They refused to unload it in my garage even though last time they unloaded it there, but that was a different driver. I told the driver to hold on a minute because since he can't unload it in garage and other driver can - most likely he will be taking it back (I just had to make a phone call to ask what to do with that salt). Driver simply dumped the salt without my permission and left!!!



I call customer service and told them the problem. They told me that they will come pick up the salt and will refund my money minus for 1 bag. At the end, they even made more charges! Additional $49.00 for coming and picking that salt up!!!



Finally, they refund for the salt minus 3 bags, not 1, but I opened only 1 bag. And after refunding for the salt they billed me for 2 delivery charges for $49.00. Rediculous!



Then, I go to the store to fight it and they refund 1 delivery charge saying that 2-nd one is justified. How is it justified if:



-- They brought wrong product (salt melt and rock salt are 2 different things).

-- They did not drop it off at the right place.



They also lied that we ordered rock salt because it is cheaper. No, we did order salt melt, but they told us they have cheaper one. However, they did not say it is rock salt - they said it is cheaper salt melt. I guess they don't understand that cheaper salt melt is DIFFERENT than buying rock salt for cheaper. It's like you buy window blinds and they give you curtains instead of cheaper window blinds.



And we were their loyal customers, which I explained to the general manager of the store. But general manager of this store did not care that we got totally wrong product, got overcharged and were loyal customers.



Well, that's fine. We shop at Home Depot now which has much nicer stuff and I found their prices to be much lower. At least we don't have to deal with ignorance of Menards anymore.
